  OBSCURE is easily from ,      שחור SHaK[H]OAR , while קדר   QayDahR (dark, black, gloomy) needs an anagram-like  M231 metathesis to see  DARK.  Ask any kettle or  קדירה QiDeyRaH (cooking pot). They get black from fire.
