Beresheet or Genesis
27:22 and the Black Hat reluctance to
wear a Green Helmet
So יעקב/Yaakov approached יצחק /Yitzchak his father; [Isaac]
felt [the man that embraced him] and said: “The voice speaks in the voice of Jacob,
but the arms feel like the arms of Esau.”
[The blind hear better. Isaac surely
did recognize Jacob’s voice. And he was
pleasantly surprised that his deserving
younger son suddenly displayed the initiative of his son the trapper, “the hand
of Esau,” to usurp the blessing that he deserved (and had bought). Isaac knew
that the Jewish mission in history required a man of action, like an Esau, not
a mild, scholarly type like Jacob. But with Jacob’s nervy ruse (with Rebecca’s
initiative), Isaac saw that he could give the firstborn blessing to his more
righteous, second-born son. It now appeared that Jacob did have the potential
to wrestle with Esau all night, to prevail and become Israel. He no longer felt that Jacob was a passive,
scaredy Hareidi * pious Jew whose only weapons are the words of Psalms: “the
voice of Jacob.”
As seen later, Isaac gives Jacob the blessing of the covenantal legacy
with full consent. For Esau’s sake,
Isaac knew that he must pretend that he’d been fooled. -- It
would not be until the Pre-Messianic Age when Torah-balanced Israelis could
synthesize the scholar and soldier in the IDF, like the classical model, the
warrior-psalmist David.]
* “sCaReDy [k]Hareidi” is
redundant EMeTologically. חרד K[H]aRaiD means trembling
with fear. But there is no initial-S in חרד K[H]aRaiD ? Nor
is there a historic initial-S in the roots of sCISSors, from גזז GaZaZ, to cut; sCOOP, which is a CUP, from the
cupped palm or כף KaPH; sCORCH,
from חרך K[H]aRaKH (to roast);
sCRATCH, from קרד QeyRaiD, to scrape; sCRUFF,
from ערף
GHoReF, back of the neck [see “GIRAFF” and “SCARF”] and sCULLERY (of kitchen
vessels), from כלי KeyLeeY (utensil). … To name just a few.
Perhaps the
Old French prefix “es” in involved.
Part Two: A Facebook response to Sylvia Halpert who uses Edenics in her Genesis study Group:
Then why didn't mankind just retain the one language of our Creator? Why did the multicultural diversity at Shinar/Sumer have to happen in Genesis 11? If we did keep Edenic, we could "stay in Eden." But that is not The Plan, HaShem's m.o. is a natural diversity that allows G*d to be hidden in the dense forest. This World is a game of Hide and Seek. The few who seek and find the Eternal will win eternality.
G*d could have created one butterfly. It's a beautiful metaphor of our ability of metamorphosis. But the creature was given the ability to adapt (not accidentally evolve) into a 1000 varieties. And so a butterfly collector (an acadummy) is able to not see a butterfly as an incredible miracle. Every word, root, is this butterfly.
Your Genesis students have encountered much diversity in early Genesis. The waters, luminaries, even the once male-and-female-in-one-being (Gen. 1:27) human being are diversified.... Edenics tries to guide seekers to the Oneness hiding behind the natural diversity. It is inspiring to hear how our Edenics work is already getting to some study groups. Thank you.
